Let it be known that Steven Moffat has no interest in bisexual visibility, and anybody who says anything else is clearly wrong. He says so himself.

Okay, wait, how is he being rude? How is Steven being rude?! I don’t get you people sometimes, as soon as this guy says something, whatever it is, it becomes the worst thing in the entire world. It’s really frustrating, and I wish it would stop. Did people complain that J.K. Rowling wasn’t contributing to gay visibility when she made Dumbledore gay but never outright stated in the books? Did people complain when Benedict claimed that Sherlock wasn’t asexual and that he wasn’t providing for asexual visibility? No. They didn’t. You know why? Because people senselessly worship both without ever stopping to say “hey that might actually not be so great”. When a writer of a character brings up a point like “this character is bisexual” they aren’t all of a sudden morally obligated to make that character responsible for whatever “visibility” they can provide. Being bisexual is just part of the character, not necessarily an attempt to provide awareness. Sure, that would be lovely, and yes, more awareness is necessary, but bashing the writers of a character(by saying FUCK OFF, AND SIT THE FUCK DOWN, AND DOUCHEBAG) because they aren’t making a campaign out of one character trait is ridiculous and cruel. Stop trying to find reasons to hate this guy, if you despise him so much, please stop watching his shows and criticizing ever single.damn.thing. he does. I hate to break the news, but he’s doing his job as a writer. Steven Moffat is not trying to be an activist for gay rights or any other rights by doing his job. Calm down.

This this this this this. Why can’t she just be bisexual without every viewer who lays eyes on her knowing it? You know, like real bisexuals?
Gatiss advocates the introduction of characters with minority sexualities whose orientations are not central to the story. I remember seeing a quote from him once about how the best thing to see on TV would be a detecive show where the main character solves a crime for half an hour and then goes home to his boyfriend and his gayness is not commented on or made part of the storyline, it just is. And everyone on Tumblr applauded and went wild.
Moffat actually puts this into practise, and he’s a demon sent from hell to condemn bisexuals to a life of invisibility. I’m sorry, but, what the fuck?

I love Steven Moffat and exactly what he is doing. He is letting his character live a ‘normal bisexual’ life within her realm of ‘normalness’ if you can call it that. He is amazing.
